Polish economy as compared to the European Union in the light of selected indicators of socio-economic development
Abstract
In the first part of this article, the concept of sustainable development and its importance in the European Union’s socio-economic development strategy is outlined. The sustainable development indicator system, adopted in the European Union, is discussed. On this basis, using the Eurostat database, an analysis of data characterizing the performance of sustainable development in the Member States, including Poland, was carried out. This assessment has enabled to rank the Member Countries in terms of the level of implementation of sustainable development.
