Selected economic and social aspects of the use of e-administration on the example of the Szczecin Agglomeration Card

Abstract
The Szczecin Agglomeration Card introduced in November 2015 as part of a major project “Improving the functioning of urban transport in the Szczecin agglomeration through the use of telemetry systems” is an example of the use of e-administration in the Szczecin agglomeration. The plastic card, similar to credit cards, contributed to lowering the costs of public transport in the agglomeration only in the field of printing and ticket distribution by over PLN 3 million annually, and on the other hand, it gave an opportunity to diversify the ticket offer without the need for costly design and printing tickets. Today, the majority of journeys by public transport in Szczecin and neighbouring municipalities are carried out by means of an electronic ticket. Equipped with the “electronic purse” function, the agglomeration card allows you to buy a bus ticket in a cashless way directly in a bus validator. The card is topped up at the ZDiTM ticket office in Szczecin, in one of 33 stationary ticket machines or using the Internet. It is a convenient way to pay for public transport by bus in the Szczecin agglomeration. The latest function is the Mobile Szczecin Agglomeration Card. It involves the use of a smartphone as an agglomeration card.
