Long-Term Trends in the Development of the Information Society
Abstract
All activities of people and their organizations require a good recognition of reality, its nature and mechanisms of ongoing processes, changes in the surroundings and so on. Trend analysis is a useful analytical tool to this end. Identification and recognition of trends (from micro to mega) is necessary in prospective studies, in elaboration of long-term development strategies and planning. Separation of trends is difficult in the present complex and chaotic reality. In the information era there is more data available, however, there is bigger complexity and diversity of processes of development and social change.
