Information Resources of Public Statistics in the Process of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Cohesion Policy at the Regional Level

Abstract
Monitoring and evaluation of the cohesion policy would not be possible without an appropriate set of methods and tools. Information resources of public statistics are especially useful for the assessment of the effectiveness of activities carried out within the cohesion policy. Public statistics in a wide range of information resources has also its tools dedicated to the monitoring and evaluation systems of the cohesion policy at the regional level. They are particularly useful to measure the extent of equality of the economic and social conditions in European regions.The purpose of this article is to present the activities carried out by public statistics at the voivodship level in the process of monitoring and evaluation of the cohesion policy. Tasks in this regard are realized by using information resources of public statistics. This study presents these information resources of public statistics that are particularly useful in the observation of activities and processes within the cohesion policy and in programming and providing opinions on these activities and processes.
