Semantic technologies in e-administration. Challenges and barriers to applications
Abstract
Semantic Web technologies are very promising and powerful tools for supporting communication in dispersed heterogenous environments. A perfect example of such environment is pan-European Administrative Space. Communication between government agencies, and agencies and citizens in UE meets many semantic conflicts resulting from language, cultural and legal differences. The aim of this paper is to present possibilities, challenges and barriers to exploitation of semantic applications in specific sector of public administration.
