Using Open Source Software in IT system for surgery department
Abstract
This work presents the information system based on Open Source components implemented as WWW application at the Institute of Computer Science of Warsaw University of Technology as a part of engineering degree project. Its functionality was developed together with the Department of General and Vascular Surgery, 2nd Medical Faculty, Warsaw Medical University. The system was successfully deployed and it is used in everyday tasks of the Department. The functional assumptions, basic modules and technologies are described as well as some experiences of system usage through more than 3 years of its usage in the Department are presented.
