The adjustment of IT staff in the ITIL implementation process – hospital case study

Abstract
The process of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) implementation in the health care institutions is a very complicated and difficult undertaking. The article considers this process in the scope of IT staff requirements. Polish hospitals gained European funds for their new IT systems and medical infrastructure. And now there are facing the problem of maintenance these resources. It is important to make decisions of implementing the ideas of ITIL despite of the lack of IT specialists. The paper presents all of human roles in ITIL service’s life cycles. The method based on the polyvalence table is presented to assess the possibilities of usage IT staff in the ITIL implementation process. The table gives a possibility of mapping real IT staff into ITIL roles. The multitask competences of IT staff are accounted.
