How to Manage Effectively the IT Strategy in City Halls
Abstract
The idea of Smart City is a remedy for increasing challenges that cities are facing today. We are witnessing a fast development of ICT technologies. This dramatically influences the transformation of everyday life in cities. Taking this into account, effective management of ICT is becoming a core competence of city halls. Nevertheless, research shows that cities in Poland are facing significant problems in this area. In this article, a new MOST method for IT strategic goals operationalization is described. The use of the procedure can help in structuring the process of translating IT strategic goals into strategic initiatives. The procedure introduces: the description of tasks to perform to complete IT goals operationalization, a common frame of cooperation between stakeholders and recommended analysis areas of architectural solutions.
